Official Record Release show and party for "Her Favorite Disguise", the acclaimed sophomore LP from The Melancholy Kings

The Melancholy Kings are excited to host an official party and show celebrating the release of their critically acclaimed sophomore LP “Her Favorite Disguise” on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at The Meat Locker at 8 Park Street in Montclair, New Jersey. The festivities begin at 9:00pm, and there is a $10 cover.

The show will feature an enhanced lineup with special guest musicians contributing to the songs from the album. In addition to performing the new album in its entirety, the band may revisit a song or two from their debut album and tease some new material for their next album.

The Melancholy Kings will be sharing the bill with The Royal Arctic Institute, described as “ambient country” and “cosmic Americana”, as well as supergroup Öld Örder, featuring Christy Davis (Mold), Dave Derby (The Dambuilders, Gramercy Arms), Mike Potenza (The Melancholy Kings, The Anderson Council) and Sandy Smallens (Too Much Joy), who will close the night with a wild set of new wave and post-punk classics.

Since its release in November 2025, “Her Favorite Disguise” has garnered a considerable amount of favorable reviews and its songs have been played extensively on various indie and streaming stations. Noted by The Big Takeover for its “jangling, killer guitar lines, kick-ass drums, bopping basses, and singalong choruses”, the album has been described by The Ringmaster Review as “a surprise equipped record that brings rousing vitality to every listen.” The three singles and videos released so far from the album — “Bitcoin Elegy”, “Victoria” and “UV” — have enjoyed considerable media attention and streaming.

The party and show are open to the public, and The Melancholy Kings and friends invite all to come and celebrate with them!
